Move Speed Dial Chrome For Mac Links To New Computer

Firefox lets you easily import bookmarks and other data from Google Chrome. This article gives you step-by-step instructions for getting it done.

We’ve already shown you some cool extensions for tweaking the new tab page in Chrome, and today we’ll see how to do that in Firefox. Super Start is my current new tab add-on, so let’s start with it. On the surface, it’s just a regular speed-dial-style extension that lets you create shortcuts for your favorite links. If you had only one or two, you could just hover over a Speed Dial and click on the little check mark to select it and then just drag-and-drop to the bottom folder. I have 58 Speed Dials.

NOTE: Changing system function key preferences affects how the function keys work for your Mac, not just Excel. Just press the FN key.   1. Click the Library button on your toolbar. (If you don't see it there, click the menu button then click Library.) Click Bookmarks and then click the Show All Bookmarks bar at the bottom.
  2. From the toolbar in the Library window, click and choose Import Data from Another Browser..
  3. In the Import Wizard window that appears, select Chrome, then click .
  4. Firefox will list the types of settings and information it can import. Select the items you want to import.
    • Cookies: Small bits of information stored on your computer by some websites that are used to keep you logged in, store your options, or do other things.
    • Browsing History: Information on the sites you have visited.
    • Saved Passwords:(Starting in Firefox version 70)(macOS and Windows only) Your usernames and passwords that Chrome remembered.
    • Bookmarks: Web pages you have saved in your Chrome bookmarks.
  5. Click to import the selected items. The wizard shows what was imported.
  6. Click to close the window. The items you selected should now be available.

Because Chrome defaults to saving bookmarks in its bookmarks toolbar, you should be able to find your imported bookmarks in a folder named From Google Chrome in the Firefox Bookmarks Toolbar.

The Bookmarks Toolbar may be hidden. To show the Bookmarks Toolbar:

  1. Click the menu button and choose .
  2. Click the Toolbars dropdown menu at the bottom of the screen and select Bookmarks Toolbar.
  3. Click the button.
Tip: You can also turn the Bookmarks toolbar on or off from the Firefox menu bar at the top of the screen: Click View, go down to Toolbars and select Bookmarks Toolbar.
